A slender mongoose
Jacko arrived at SanWild for release after he was hand raised by a veterinarian. Slender mongooses are notoriously aggressive and absolutely hate humans. They are not easy to handle and Jacko proved to be true to his kind. Soon after arrival he was placed in a large natural habitat moveable aviary that can be moved around to allow the animal in rehabilitation to experience a particular area and learn to hunt before they are set free. Within days Jacko literally climbed into the many insects in his new territory and killed grasshoppers and other tasty prey items. He totally enjoyed his new found "freedom" and was soon released back to the wild to start a new life wild and free.
