Lesser Bush Baby
Jassie is a long-time SanWild resident and one of our success stories. Found in a blown over three when he was only a couple of days old, the baby bush baby was hand raised at SanWild and a soft release was done in which he was allowed to gradually come and go as he pleased.
For the last 3 years Jassie has remained close to the office and rehab centre and have been spotted on numerous occasions with a mate. He can no longer be handled, but he does from time to time still visit the rehab centre and will come down from the large thatch roof to receive a bowl of yoghurt. If you are extremely honoured Jassie will jump down to sit on your shoulder. You are quite okay as long as you do not try and touch him. If you do try he will both jump away and disappear into the dark night again.
